I haven't been emprisoned, but I do have a pretty good first-hand knowledge about the gaols of most of Denmark from my work as a free-lancing judicial interpreter.
In 1981, I was hospitalised for a dozen days at Rigshospitalet for acne (!). The acne did not disappear from my skin, but, contrariwise, my 10 speed racing bike did disappear from the bicycle stands of the hospital through those weeks.
